Used for flow measurements in the lab, process flows in pilot plants, metering carrier gases in chromatography, indicating and controlling gases in manufacturing processes, and for indicating flow rates in pumping or flow systems, these flowmeters are formed from heavy-walled, shock-resistant borosilicate glass, capable of operating at pressures up to 200 p.s.i.g. and maximum temperatures of 121°C (250°F). They feature fused ceramic scales that provide an accuracy of ± 2% of full scale and a repeatability of 0.25%. The uniformly tapered bores include internal rib guides that stabilize the glass, stainless steel, or Carboloy floats, with flow measurement taken by reading the center of the float on a universal scale. Flowmeters, available in four styles: 65mm scale sizes 1-6 and 150mm scale sizes 1-5, utilize millimeter scales to indicate the height to which the float rises, correlated with specific flow rates using provided calibration data sheets or curves. Housed in a black anodized aluminum frame with an exclusive tube-lock feature, the design prevents turning during locking; once secured, the meter will not shift under pressure or vacuum. A special magnifying window spans the entire length of the scale, enhancing readability of flow measurements. Tubing connectors are rear-mounted for easy attachment to an instrument when used as a bench stand, and an optional leveling base (H40404-1000) ensures vertical positioning to eliminate errors caused by friction between the float and tube. Mounted flowmeters with aluminum fittings are designed for economy and come equipped with Buna-N, 316 stainless steel, and Delrin® valves featuring hose barbs that accommodate tubing with an inner diameter ranging from 8mm to 9.5mm.
