The flowmeters are designed for various applications including flow measurements in laboratories, process flows in pilot plants, metering carrier gases in chromatography, indicating and controlling gases in manufacturing processes, and indicating flow rates in pumping or flow systems. Constructed from heavy-walled, shock-resistant borosilicate glass, these flowmeters can operate at pressures up to 200 p.s.i.g. and maximum temperatures of 121°C (250°F). They feature fused ceramic scales accurate to within ± 2% of full scale with a repeatability of 0.25%. The uniformly tapered bores are equipped with internal rib guides to stabilize the glass, stainless steel, or Carboloy floats, with flow measurement taken by reading the center of the float on a universal scale that corresponds to flow rates for specific fluids or gases on a supplied calibration chart. Available in four styles: 65mm scale sizes 1-6 and 150mm scale sizes 1-5, the millimeter scales indicate the float's height within the flowmeter and are correlated with specific flow rates using appropriate calibration data sheets or curves, making the flowmeter versatile for various fluids under different pressure and temperature conditions. Housed in a black anodized aluminum frame, the flowmeters feature a unique tube-lock to prevent movement during operation, and a special magnifying window for easy readability. Rear-mounted tubing connectors facilitate attachment to an instrument when used as a bench stand. An optional leveling base (H40404-1000) ensures vertical positioning to eliminate errors from float and tube friction. Additionally, mounted flowmeters with aluminum fittings are cost-effective and include Buna-N, 316 stainless steel, and Delrin® valves with hose barbs accommodating tubing from 8mm to 9.5mm I.D.
