Product Details
The flowmeters are designed for flow measurements in laboratory settings, pilot plants for process flows, gas metering in chromatography, and for indicating and controlling gases in manufacturing processes, as well as for indicating flow rates in pumping or flow systems. Constructed from heavy-walled, shock-resistant borosilicate glass, these flowmeters can operate under pressures up to 200 p.s.i.g. and maximum temperatures of 121°C (250°F). They feature fused ceramic scales that are accurate to within ± 2% of full scale, with a repeatability of 0.25%. The uniformly tapered bores include internal rib guides that stabilize the glass, stainless steel, or Carboloy floats, and flow measurement is determined by reading the center of the float against a universal scale, which corresponds to a flow rate for a specific fluid or gas on an included calibration chart. Flowmeters are available in four styles: 65mm scale, sizes 1-6, and 150mm scale, sizes 1-5. The millimeter scales indicate the height to which the float rises within the flowmeter and can be correlated with specific flow rates using the provided calibration data sheets or curves, allowing for versatility with various fluids under different pressure and temperature conditions. Enclosed in a black anodized aluminum frame, the flowmeters feature an exclusive tube-lock to prevent rotation during locking, ensuring stability under pressure or vacuum. A special magnifying window spans the entire scale for enhanced readability of flow measurements, and tubing connectors are rear-mounted for easy attachment to an instrument when used as a bench stand. An optional leveling base (H40404-1000) ensures the meter remains vertical, thus eliminating measurement errors caused by float-tube friction. Mounted flowmeters with aluminum fittings are equipped with Buna-N, 316 stainless steel, and Delrin® valves featuring hose barbs compatible with tubing from 8mm to 9.5mm I.D.
