The portable eyewash/drench hose unit is designed to use air pressure to deliver 10 gallons (37.5 liters) of water for 15 minutes, making it suitable for low hazard areas without a continuous supply of water. Mounted on a stainless steel dolly for easy installation and movement, the unit can be placed in hazardous areas. It includes a 15 gallon (56L) stainless steel tank equipped with carrying handles, an air intake valve, pressure gauge, and pressure relief valve. To prepare for use, fill the tank with potable water and add the supplied bacteriostatic additive, which prevents the growth of bacteria, fungus, algae, and Acanthamoeba, then pressurize with 80 PSI (5.5 bar) air pressure. The eyewash system features (2) GS-Plus low flow spray heads with flip-top dust covers, integral flow controls, and filters, allowing for a discharge rate of .7 GPM (2.6L/min) for 15 minutes, while the drench hose includes a single GS-Plus spray head and a self-closing valve with a 6 foot (2m) reinforced PVC hose, delivering 1.7 GPM (6.4L/min) for 6 minutes. The unit weighs 46 lbs (20.9kg) when empty and 127 lbs (57.6kg) when filled, and comes with an ANSI-compliant sign. Quality assurance checks are performed following assembly and factory testing prior to shipment. Regular inspections are required, and the water and bacteriostatic additive should be changed at least every six months for maintenance.
