The Altair® 4XR gas detector is equipped with rapid-response MSA XCell® sensors and features a robust design with a rubberized over-mold, ensuring durability and reliability in various environments. This 4-gas monitor operates with a lithium-ion battery and boasts a 4-year warranty. It has a 1-minute test time and is designed to handle cross-sensitivities, which are limited through sensor design. The device is rugged, capable of surviving 25 drops from 4 feet (1.2 meters) as per MIL-STD-810G 516.6 standards, and can withstand an incidental 25-foot (7.5-meter) drop onto concrete. It is dust- and waterproof with an IP68 rating, functioning at depths of 2 meters for at least 1 hour, and operates within a temperature range of -40°F to +140°F (-40°C to +60°C). The detector senses gas twice as fast as the industry average due to its advanced sensors and confirms compliance quickly with a bump LED and on-screen checkmark. It allows for bump and calibration using half the test gas and time compared to the industry average and can be synchronized to a specified "time of day" with the MSA Galaxy® GX2 automated test system. Additionally, it offers a motion alert option to signal others if the user becomes immobile and a user-activated instant alert feature to notify others of potentially dangerous situations. The device is certified for use in hazardous environments, meeting USA/CSA, Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C & D, Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F & G, and Class III, Division 1 compliance standards.
