This lightweight aluminum ladder is an articulating, multi-position ladder that can convert to a stepladder, extension, staircase, 90-degree, and trestle-and-plank scaffolding. It features wide-flared legs and Ratchet™ levelers for enhanced side-tip stability and safety on uneven surfaces. Compact and lightweight, the ladder fits in most fire engine storage spaces and is constructed with Rock Lock® rung fasteners, allowing for easy adjustment while wearing heavy firefighter gloves. Reflective labels improve visibility, while heat sensor labels indicate when the ladder has been exposed to excessive heat and should be taken out of service. The ladder meets or exceeds all OSHA and ANSI standards and is rated IA to hold 300 lbs. In its stepladder configuration, it can support 300 lbs. on both sides. Additionally, the Defender complies with NFPA standards for the manufacturer's design of fire department ground ladders and has been tested according to NFPA standards on the use, maintenance, and service testing of in-service fire department ground ladders.
