The Starrett® 196 universal back plunger dial indicator is designed for versatility and accuracy, featuring graduations to .001" and 0.02mm, making it suitable for a wide range of tasks. The dial indicator has a shank diameter of 1/4" (6.3mm) and includes three hardened contact points for different applications. Operators can easily set the hand to zero by rotating the dial with the knurled bezel, allowing for one full rotation of the hand both to the right and left of zero to measure variations in the workpiece. The kit comes complete with a 0-50-0 dial indicator, three contact points, an adapter, and four attachments housed in a case that includes a clamp, tool post holder, snug, and hole attachment.
