The Starrett 53295 dial indicator features a 1.000" range and model number 25-441J, showcasing a shockless, hardened steel gear train with jewel bearings and lug-on-center backs, conforming to AGD specifications. This rugged and simply constructed unit has a "universally fitting" design, a one gear unit assembly, and a non-reflecting white eggshell finish on the dial. It includes an unbreakable crystal and a massive bridge for rigid bearing support while the hardened stainless steel bottom stems can be held in fixtures without cramping rack action. With a light but sturdy no-glare satin finish on the case, the indicator employs a direct acting compression spring to eliminate side friction, allowing for easy readability with balanced graduation and number combinations. The balanced and tapered hands enhance visibility, and the unit has replaceable low friction jewel bearings. All gear trains are fully jeweled for sensitivity, smoothness, and longevity, while sharp bezel serrations provide a positive grip. An interchangeable contact point and a positive-acting clamp that locks the bezel in position are also included. The mounting diameter is .375" and features four screw holes for 90-degree rotation of the back.
