Constructed from 18-gauge (1-mm) thick steel, the cabinet features a double-wall design with a 1.5 in (38 mm) insulating air space to enhance fire resistance. Its fully welded construction ensures durability and reduces air gaps for improved fire protection. The cabinet is equipped with high-performance, self-closing doors that open to 140 degrees, incorporating a patented concealed self-close mechanism that maintains access to shelf space while guaranteeing tight closure. Continuous piano hinges facilitate smooth door operation, and the self-closing function is activated by fusible links which melt at 165 F (74 C) in fire conditions. For added security, the cabinet features a self-latching system with stainless steel bullet-slams and utilizes an innovative U-Loc™ handle that simplifies engagement.
