The Merit chrome plated brass Schedule 40 nipple measures 3/4 inch by 11 NPT male and is manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, Alloy 230. This chrome plated red brass nipple offers improved machinability, reduced brittleness, and enhanced corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. Brass provides good resistance to corrosion from water and heat and resists attacks from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils commonly found in water. Primarily used in commercial plumbing and OEM water applications, this brass nipple is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. The chrome plating ensures the nipple is easy to clean, resistant to dirt and bacteria, and maintains a shiny finish.
