The Merit chrome plated brass Schedule 40 nipple measures 3/4 x 2-1/2 NPT male and is produced from seamless red brass pipe, Alloy 230. These chrome plated red brass nipples are easier to machine, less brittle, and more corrosion resistant than yellow brass, as they do not dezincify. Brass offers good corrosion resistance against water and heat, and resists attack from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils contained in water. Primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, brass is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. The chrome plating on these brass nipples makes them easy to clean, prevents dirt and bacteria buildup, and maintains a shiny finish.
