The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple, measuring 1 x 5 NPT male, is crafted from seamless red brass pipe (alloy 230), providing enhanced machinability, reduced brittleness, and superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, which is susceptible to dezincification. This product exhibits excellent corrosion resistance from water, heat, salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. While primarily designed for commercial plumbing and OEM applications involving water, this chrome plated brass nipple is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
