The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 3/4 x 9 NPT male and is manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, identified as Alloy 230. These chrome plated red brass nipples are easier to machine and less brittle compared to yellow brass, while offering superior corrosion resistance, including resistance to dezincification. Brass provides good corrosion resistance to water and heat and is resistant to salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. Primarily used for water applications in commercial plumbing and OEM settings, these nipples are also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. Chrome plating enhances the nipples by making them easy to clean, preventing dirt and bacteria accumulation, and maintaining a shiny finish.
