The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple is 1-1/4 inches by 4 inches with NPT male threads. This product is manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230, which offers superior machinability and reduced brittleness compared to yellow brass, as well as enhanced resistance to corrosion and dezincification. The brass composition provides good resistance against water, heat, salt water, acids, and minerals found in peaty soils. Commonly employed in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, this nipple is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. The chrome plating not only facilitates easy cleaning and helps maintain a shiny finish, but also prevents the accumulation of dirt and bacteria.
