Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 1/2 x 9 NPT male and is produced from seamless red brass pipe, alloy 230. These chrome plated brass nipples are designed for superior machinability, reduced brittleness, and enhanced resistance to corrosion compared to yellow brass, preventing dezincification. They provide good corrosion resistance from water and heat and withstand attacks from salt water, acids, and minerals found in peaty soils. While primarily used in water applications for commercial plumbing and OEM, they are also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. Their chrome plating makes these nipples easy to clean, resistant to dirt and bacteria, and they maintain a shiny finish.
