The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 1/8 inch by 5 inches with NPT male threads. It is manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, alloy 230, known for being easier to machine, less brittle, and significantly more corrosion-resistant than yellow brass due to its resistance to dezincification. This chrome plated red brass nipple offers excellent corrosion resistance against water, heat, salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils commonly found in water. It is primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, as well as in oil, gas, and steam applications. The chrome plating enhances ease of cleaning, prevents the attraction of dirt and bacteria, and maintains a shiny finish.
