The Merit Chrome Plated Brass Schedule 40 Nipple measures 3/8 x 5-1/2 NPT male and is produced from seamless red brass pipe, alloy 230. These chrome plated brass nipples are easier to machine, less brittle, and significantly more resistant to corrosion than yellow brass, as they will not dezincify. Brass provides excellent corrosion resistance from water and heat and withstands attacks from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils contained in water. It is primarily utilized for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, but can also be used in oil, gas, and steam applications. Additionally, chrome plated brass nipples are favored for their ease of cleaning, resistance to attracting dirt and bacteria, and ability to maintain a shiny finish. Warranty information: 5 years.
