Merit chrome plated brass Schedule 40 nipple 3/4 x 8 NPT male is produced from seamless red brass pipe, Alloy 230. These chrome plated red brass nipples are easier to machine, less brittle, and more resistant to corrosion than yellow brass, as they will not dezincify. Brass offers good corrosion resistance to water and heat, and it resists attack from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils contained in water. Primarily utilized for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, brass is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
