The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 3/4 x 12 NPT male and is manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. This type of chrome plated red brass is noted for being easier to machine and less brittle, offering superior resistance to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. With excellent corrosion resistance against water, heat, saltwater, and various acids, as well as minerals and peaty soils found in water, brass is predominantly used in commercial plumbing and OEM applications. Additionally, it is suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
