The Merit chrome plated brass schedule 40 nipple measures 1/8 x 2 NPT male and is constructed from seamless red brass pipe, alloy 230. These chrome plated red brass nipples offer superior machinability and are less brittle compared to yellow brass, providing enhanced resistance to corrosion and dezincification. Brass exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to water, heat, salt water, acids, and minerals, as well as peaty soils found in water. Primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, the nipples are also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications. The chrome plating not only allows for ease of cleaning but also prevents the attraction of dirt and bacteria while maintaining a shiny finish.
