The next generation Guardian 5000™ hotplate stirrers are designed for safety and versatility in research, academic, and industrial environments, offering powerful heating and mixing capabilities with premium hardware and software. Heating models reach temperatures up to 550° C and feature three temperature control modes that allow for quick heating or precise heating without overshoot. The kit includes options for five models with three different plate sizes, featuring robust full metal housing, ceramic square top plates or ceramic-coated aluminum round top plates, and high-performance SMCO magnets. The device operates on 100-120 VAC or 220-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz, controlled by rotary switch knobs, and supports RS232 communication for data logging and remote control. It has a backlit LCD display with white characters and integrated heating and stirring status indicators in green, accompanied by a prominent hot top indicator in yellow. The design incorporates a large DIP angle front panel for easy viewing from a distance, smooth enclosure surfaces for easy cleaning, an audible alarm, IP32 protection, and an optional rapid install splashing shield. Applications include temperature-sensitive chemistry and biology, heat fixation, solution pH optimization, sterilization, endothermic reactions, denaturing organic material, sample and solution preparation, buffer and reagent dissolving, media preparation, and boiling.
