The next generation Guardian 5000™ hotplate stirrers are engineered for safety and versatility in research, academic, and industrial settings, offering powerful heating and mixing with premium hardware and software. Heating models reach up to 550° C and feature three temperature control modes for quick heating or precise heating without overshoot. The product line includes five models with three plate size options. Applications include temperature-sensitive chemistry and biology, heat fixation, solution pH optimization, sterilization, endothermic reactions, denaturing organic material, sample and solution preparation, dissolving buffers and reagents, media preparation, and boiling. The device features a backlit LCD display with white characters and integrated heating and stirring status indicators in green, alongside a prominent yellow hot top indicator. Operation is supported via 100-120 VAC or 220-240 VAC 50/60 Hz power entry with rotary switch knob control. Communication capabilities include RS232 for data logging and remote control. Construction includes a robust full metal housing with either a ceramic square top plate or ceramic-coated aluminum round top plate and a high-performance SMCo magnet. Design features consist of a large dip angle front panel for easy monitoring, smooth enclosure surfaces for easy cleaning, an audible alarm, IP32 protection rating, and an optional rapid-install splashing shield.
