Floating booms keep microbes on the water's surface, utilizing specially-treated polyethylene foam in Ultra-Archaea® booms that enables them to float while absorbing oil. The kit includes six microbe tablets that are inserted into slits in the foam sleeves, containing 100% natural, hardy, and fast-acting Ultra-Archaea® microbes, known for their affinity for oil, hydrocarbons, and organic waste. This specific consortium of microbes is non-genetically altered and has been listed on the EPA National Contingency List since its inception. The tablets dissolve gradually upon extended water contact, releasing the microbes into the water. The booms can be deployed directly into or tied off in catch basins (lanyards included), oil/water separators, or other oily water collection sites. Applications extend beyond oil spills to include wastewater treatment facilities like refineries, pulp mills, chemical plants, steel mills, textile factories, municipal collection systems, and food processing. Additional uses encompass plumbing maintenance for sinks and grease traps, spill control, septic tanks, odor management, bioremediation of soil and water, ammonia elimination, stormwater management in agriculture and aquaculture, and oil/water separators, containment sumps, and lagoons.
