The heavy-duty surface door closer is designed for high-use environments such as schools and hospitals, featuring a lifetime warranty. The standard package includes the 5301 closer body, 5302 closer cover, 5303 main arm assembly, 5304 standard screw pack, 5900 parallel arm bracket, and 5902 SNB screw pack for 1-3/4" doors. This product is BHMA certified to ANSI A156.4 and supports adjustable sizes from 2 to 6, while being ADA compliant to ANSI A117.1 for adjustable sizes 1 to 4. It is UL/CUL listed for up to 3 hours and rated for both positive and neutral pressure (UL10C and UL10B respectively). Constructed from aluminum alloy, it features a full plastic cover and pinion cap, double heat treated steel tempered springs, and adjustable valves for latching, sweep speed, backcheck, and optional delayed action. The closer is non-handed and includes a tri-pack of arms and brackets for regular, parallel arm, and top jamb mount configurations, with a 15% power adjustment in the standard arm for regular and top jamb mounts. It accommodates door thicknesses of 1-3/4" (44 mm) with optional sizes ranging from 1-3/8" to 2-1/4" (36 mm to 57 mm). The fasteners include self-reaming, self-tapping wood and machine screws, sex nuts, and bolts, with standard finishes in ALM, BRZ, DBZ, and GOL, along with rust inhibiting primer. Additional features include full rack and pinion operation, precision machined components, a heat treated steel piston, and a triple heat treated steel spindle.
