This heavy duty planer is designed for performance and value, equipped with a powerful 5HP motor and a 20" planing capacity, making it suitable for even the most demanding tasks. It features a 5" dust port for easy connection to any dust collector, while the cutterhead, which operates at 5,000 RPM and produces 20,000 cuts per minute, is fitted with four high-speed steel knives. The anti-kickback fingers and pressure bar positioned near the cutterhead provide an exceptional finish. Constructed with a solid cast iron base, table, and head, this machine is built for production. The 2-speed oil bath gearbox allows for quick speed changes between 24 and 31 FPM, and it can be converted to a 4-speed setup with the included gear to achieve lower speeds of 16 and 20 FPM. The corrugated infeed and fine groove outfeed rollers ensure a smooth feeding process, while the precision ground and polished cast iron table, supported by four steel columns, affords ample support for larger workpieces. Heavy cast iron extension wings contribute to a flat, smooth cut. The kit includes a knife setting gauge, and the fully enclosed base cabinet with integrated casters enhances shop mobility. The machine operates at 460V, necessitating an additional 460V magnetic switch (209-5016E). Specifications include single-sided knives and a 5" diameter dust port, creating a large working area of 55-1/2" x 20".
