The unitized superstructure of the fume hood features a molded seamless fume chamber with all corners coved, constructed from a flame retardant and chemical resistant composite resin that contains minimal metallic parts. The sash is made of 1/4" clear tempered safety glass, and the frame and track are fabricated from chemical resistant PVC. The fume hood is equipped with a Varaflow baffle system that efficiently directs air through the fume chamber, with the baffle being easily removable for cleaning. It includes a vapor proof light fixture with a column mounted light switch, and all electrical services are U.L. and C.S.A. listed, factory wired to the junction box. The hood is shipped completely assembled and requires a low flow constant volume (LCV), eliminating the need for VAV controls, costly auxiliary air systems, and special integral supply fans. It is designed to save 50% or more in exhaust volume compared to conventional fume hoods while incorporating superior containment performance specific to the HEMCO line of Uniflow laboratory fume hoods. The unit meets the U.L. 1805 classification, which defines requirements specific to laboratory fume hoods and cabinets, and the HEMCO® test facility is compliant to test fume hoods for this classification.
