The VJ series consists of seven enclosure sizes ranging from 6" x 6" to 18" x 16", with varying depths and a variety of configurations. The VJ series "HWPL" enclosures include one or two stainless steel padlockable latches to secure one side of the cover to the base, along with a stainless steel piano hinge that secures the other side. Rivets connect the hinge to the cover, while self-tapping screws connect the cover to the base. Constructed from light gray (RAL7035) hot molded fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP), these enclosures are complete with UL/CSA labels and feature four threaded inserts for a mounting plate. The cover screw holes in the corners are located outside of the gasketed area, and continuous gaskets made of polyurethane foam ensure optimal integrity. The enclosure can be readily worked with conventional tools such as drills, mills, saws, and punches. The FRP enclosures can withstand continuous temperatures from -58°F to 302°F (-50°C to 150°C) and momentary exposure to temperatures up to 392°F (200°C). Enclosures without latches offer optimum security to both operators and equipment, featuring double insulation and a protection degree of IP66-11 according to IEC 529. The VJ enclosures are maintenance-free, corrosion-resistant, and are UL listed per UL standard 508 type 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12, and 13, as well as CSA approved per C22.2 No. 94. They are designed for use as electrical junction boxes or instrumentation enclosures in highly corrosive environments, including oil refineries, chemical processing plants, wastewater treatment facilities, marine installations, electroplating plants, agricultural environments, and food or animal processing plants. Additionally, VJ enclosures are suitable as instrument housings for both indoor and outdoor applications, with window enclosures providing easy visual inspection of interior components.
