The VM series range in size from 4" x 3" to 9" x 3", with varying depths, offering 13 sizes and a variety of configurations. The "VM" standard enclosures include an opaque cover and 4 non-metallic corner screws. Both the opaque covers and all bases are constructed from impact and corrosive resistant Valox® 357U thermoplastic polyester in light grey (RAL7035). The enclosures feature molded internal bosses for back panel mounting of components or DIN rails and have an ASTM D 648 heat deflection temperature rating of up to 280°F (138°C). A tongue-and-groove gasket fitting ensures a tight seal, while a seamless poured polyurethane gasket provides an oil-resistant, watertight, and dust-tight seal. Valox® material can be easily punched, drilled, sawed, or filed, and it is a crystalline thermoplastic polyester known for its performance profile engineered for demanding end-use environments. The VM series enclosure is designed for use as insulated electrical junction boxes, terminal wiring boxes, instrument housings, electrical control boxes, and pushbutton housings in wet, dusty, and corrosive environments. It meets standards protection degree IP66 (IEC 529) and has UL listing for types 4, 4X, 3, 3R, 12, 13; CSA listing for types 4, 4X, 3, 3R, 12, 13; and NEMA rating for types 4, 4X, 3, 3R, 12, 13.
