The VJ series consists of seven enclosure sizes ranging from 6" x 6" to 18" x 16", with varying depths and a variety of configurations. The VJ series "HWPL" enclosures incorporate one or two stainless steel padlockable latches for securing one side of the cover to the base, complemented by a stainless steel piano hinge on the other side. The hinge is riveted to the cover, while self-tapping screws connect the base to the enclosure. Constructed from light gray (RAL7035), hot molded fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP), these enclosures come complete with UL/CSA labels and four threaded inserts for a mounting plate. Cover screw holes in the corners are positioned outside of the gasketed area, and continuous gaskets made of polyurethane foam ensure optimal integrity. The enclosure is compatible with conventional tools such as drills, mills, saws, and punches. Designed to withstand continuous temperatures from -58°F to 302°F (-50°C to 150°C) and momentary exposure to temperatures up to 392°F (200°C), VJ enclosures without latches provide enhanced security through double insulation and an IP66-11 protection degree according to IEC 529. They are maintenance-free, corrosion-resistant, and UL listed per UL standard 508 type 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12, and 13, as well as CSA approved per C22.2 No. 94. The VJ series enclosures are suitable for use as electrical junction boxes or instrumentation enclosures in highly corrosive environments, including oil refineries, chemical processing plants, wastewater treatment facilities, marine installations, electroplating plants, agricultural environments, and food or animal processing plants. In addition, VJ enclosures are appropriate as instrument housings for both indoor and outdoor applications, with window enclosures allowing for easy visual inspection of interior components.
