The Bluff® aluminum dock board with steel curbs measures 60 x 36 inches and has a 15,000 lb. capacity, combining the strength of steel with the lightweight of aluminum alloy. It features an anti-skid diamond tread surface and high-visibility beveled steel curbs that provide excellent impact resistance to prevent run-off and enhance safety. The bolted-on steel curbs offer a full-length handgrip for ease of handling, and a safety stop on the underside fits snugly between the truck and dock to prevent movement under load. The board has an 11-degree angle of operation by default, an 11-inch entry lip with a rounded nose to protect tires, and can be reversed when the truck is lower than dock level. It meets OSHA requirements 1910.30(a). The rated capacity is based on the combined weight of the maximum pallet load and lift truck, intended for a single shift with equipment speeds up to 3 mph; for multi-shift use, or with 3-wheeled forklifts or trucks using paper roll clamps, an additional 5,000 lbs. should be added. The width of the dock board should be 12 inches greater than the lift truck or load, with the most popular width being 60 inches and the usable width being 4 inches less than the overall width. Use of stackers, 3-wheeled forklifts, and other narrow aisle loaders on this dock board is not recommended. Refrigerated trucks require special dock boards.
