The Bluff® steel dock board is engineered to enhance loading operations, improve safety, and minimize labor costs. It features an anti-skid diamond tread surface and high-visibility beveled curbs, ensuring maximum safety during operations. Constructed from heavy-duty all-welded steel, this dock board is suitable for frequent motorized traffic, offering exceptional impact resistance and strength. It includes built-in lifting loops for convenient handling, while the curb is designed with a full-length handgrip for added safety. A safety stop on the underside of the board secures it firmly between the truck and dock, preventing movement under load. The dock board has an 11° angle unless another angle is specified, and it includes an 11" entry lip with a rounded nose to protect tires. It complies with OSHA requirements 1910.30(a). The board's capacity is determined by the combined weight of the maximum pallet load and lift truck, rated for a single shift with equipment speeds up to 3 mph; for multi-shift operations or specific forklifts, an additional 5000 lbs. should be added to the capacity. Additionally, the width should exceed the lift truck or load by 12", with a popular width of 60" and a usable width 4" less than the overall width. Note that stackers, 3-wheeled forklifts, and narrow aisle loaders are not recommended for use on the dock board, and refrigerated trucks require specialized boards. The application height accommodates up to 5" above the dock with propane or gas forklifts, and up to 3" above the dock with electric forklifts or pallet jacks.
