The Bluff® aluminum dock board with steel curbs measures 60 x 48 inches and has a 15,000 lb. capacity, designed to speed up loading operations while enhancing safety and reducing labor costs. It features an anti-skid diamond tread surface and high-visibility beveled steel curbs for maximum safety. The dock board combines the strength of bolted-on steel curbs, which offer excellent impact resistance and full-length handgrips for ease and safety in handling, with the lightweight and resilient aluminum alloy board that provides a positive traction surface. A safety stop on the underside fits snugly between the truck and dock to prevent movement under load. The board is supplied with an 11-degree angle unless another angle is specified, and it includes an 11-inch entry lip with a rounded nose designed to protect tires. It meets OSHA requirements 1910.30(a) and can be reversed when the truck is lower than dock level. Capacity is rated for a single shift with equipment speeds up to 3 mph, and for multi-shift operations, 3-wheeled forklifts, or trucks using paper roll clamps, 5,000 lbs. should be added to the board capacity. The width should be 12 inches greater than the lift truck or load, with 60 inches being the most popular width; the usable width is 4 inches less than the overall width. Stackers, 3-wheeled forklifts, and other narrow aisle loaders should not be used on this dock board, and refrigerated trucks require special dock boards.
