The BLUFF® aluminum dock board with steel curbs measures 72 x 48 inches and has a 15,000 lb. capacity, designed to speed up loading operations, enhance safety, and reduce labor costs. It features an anti-skid diamond tread surface made from resilient aluminum alloy for positive traction, combined with bolted-on steel curbs that provide excellent impact resistance to prevent run-off. The steel curbs also serve as full-length handgrips for ease and safety during handling. The board includes a safety stop on the underside that fits snugly between the truck and dock to prevent movement under load and has an 11-degree operating angle unless otherwise specified. An 11-inch entry lip with a rounded nose protects tires. This dock board meets OSHA requirements 1910.30(a) and can be reversed if the truck is lower than dock level. The capacity rating is based on the combined weight of the maximum pallet load and lift truck for a single shift with equipment speeds up to 3 mph; for multi-shift operations, 3-wheeled forklifts, or trucks using paper roll clamps, an additional 5,000 lbs. capacity should be added. The width should be 12 inches greater than the lift truck or load, with usable width 4 inches less than the overall width; the most popular overall width is 60 inches. Stackers, 3-wheeled forklifts, and narrow aisle loaders should not be used on this dock board, and refrigerated trucks require special dock boards.
