The Bluff® steel dock board features a heavy-duty all-welded steel construction designed for frequent motorized traffic, enhancing loading operations while minimizing accidents and labor costs. It includes an anti-skid diamond tread surface, high-visibility beveled curbs, and built-in lifting loops for easy handling. The smart design incorporates a full-length handgrip for improved safety and a safety stop on the underside that secures the board between the truck and dock to prevent movement under load. The dock board comes with an 11° angle unless a different angle of operation is specified, and it has an 11" entry lip with a rounded nose to protect tires. Meeting OSHA requirements 1910.30(a), the dock board's capacity is determined by the combined weight of the maximum pallet load and lift truck, rated for a single shift at speeds of 3 mph, with an additional capacity of 5000 lbs. recommended for multi-shift operations or when using specific equipment. The width should be 12" greater than the lift truck or load, with a popular width of 60"; usable width is 4" less than overall width. It is important to note that stackers and 3-wheeled forklifts should not be used on this dock board, and special dock boards are required for refrigerated trucks. The application height accommodates up to 7" above the dock for propane or gas forklifts and up to 5" above the dock for electric forklifts or pallet jacks.
