The Bluff® steel dock board with steel curbs is designed to enhance loading operations by improving safety and reducing labor costs. It features an anti-skid diamond tread surface and high-visibility beveled curbs, ensuring maximum safety during use. Constructed from heavy-duty all-welded steel, this dock board is suited for frequent motorized traffic and provides maximum impact resistance, strength, and safety. It includes built-in lifting loops and a full-length handgrip on the curb for ease of handling. The safety stop located on the underside fits snugly between the truck and dock to prevent movement under load. The dock board comes with an 11° angle unless otherwise specified, and an 11" entry lip with a rounded nose is designed to protect tires. It complies with OSHA requirements 1910.30(a). The capacity rating accounts for the combined weight of the maximum pallet load and lift truck, rated for a single shift with a maximum speed of 3 mph; for multi-shift operations with 3-wheeled forklifts or trucks using paper roll clamps, an additional 5000 lbs. should be added to the capacity. The recommended width of the dock board should be 12" greater than the lift truck or load, with 60" being the most popular width, and the usable width is 4" less than the overall width. It is important to note that stackers, 3-wheeled forklifts, and other narrow aisle loaders should not be used on a dock board, and specialized dock boards are required for refrigerated trucks. The application height accommodates up to 9" above the dock for propane or gas forklifts and up to 7" for electric forklifts or pallet jacks.
