The Bluff® steel dock board with steel curbs measures 72 x 48 inches and has a 10,000 lb. capacity. It features an anti-skid diamond tread surface and high-visibility beveled curbs for maximum safety, constructed from heavy-duty all-welded steel ideal for frequent motorized traffic, providing maximum impact resistance, strength, and safety. The board comes with lifting chains and includes a curb that provides a full-length handgrip for ease and safety in handling. A safety stop on the underside fits snugly between the truck and dock to prevent movement under load. It is supplied at an 11° angle unless another angle of operation is specified, and the 11" entry lip with a rounded nose protects tires. This dock board meets OSHA requirements 1910.30(a) and can be reversed when the truck is lower than dock level. Capacity refers to the combined weight of the maximum pallet load and lift truck, rated for a single shift with equipment speeds of up to 3 mph. For multi-shift operations, 3-wheeled forklifts, or trucks using paper roll clamps, an additional 5,000 lbs. must be added to the board capacity. The width of the dock board should be 12" greater than the lift truck or load, with the most popular width being 60" and a usable width 4" less than the overall width. Stacker trucks, 3-wheeled forklifts, and other narrow aisle loaders are not recommended for use on the dock board, and refrigerated trucks require special dock boards.
