The Bluff® aluminum dock board with steel curbs is designed to enhance loading operations by boosting safety and efficiency while minimizing labor costs. This resilient dock board features an anti-skid diamond tread surface combined with high-visibility beveled curbs for maximum safety, utilizing the strength of steel along with the lightweight properties of aluminum. The bolted-on steel curbs provide excellent impact resistance to prevent run-off, and the full-length handgrip ensures ease of handling. A safety stop on the underside of the board securely fits between the truck and dock to prevent movement while loaded. The dock board comes with an 11-degree angle, although other angles can be specified, and features an 11-inch entry lip with a rounded nose to protect tires. It meets OSHA requirements 1910.30(a). The capacity is determined by the combined weight of the maximum pallet load and lift truck, rated for a single shift with a maximum speed of 3 mph; for multi-shift operations or 3-wheeled forklifts using paper roll clamps, the board capacity should be increased by 5,000 lbs. The width should be at least 12 inches greater than the lift truck or load, with a popular width of 60 inches, and the usable width is 4 inches less than the overall width. It is important to note that stackers, 3-wheeled forklifts, and other narrow aisle loaders should not be used on this dock board, and special dock boards are required for refrigerated trucks. The application height accommodates up to 5 inches above the dock with propane or gas forklifts and up to 3 inches with electric forklifts or pallet jacks.
