The Bluff® aluminum dock board with steel curbs measures 72 x 48 inches and has a 10,000 lb. capacity, combining the strength of steel with the lightweight of aluminum. It features an anti-skid diamond tread surface and high-visibility beveled steel curbs, which are bolted-on for excellent impact resistance and help prevent run-off. The curb provides a full-length handgrip for ease and safety in handling, and a safety stop on the underside of the board fits snugly between the truck and dock to prevent movement under load. The board comes with an 11-degree angle of operation unless otherwise specified, and includes an 11-inch entry lip with a rounded nose to protect tires. It meets OSHA requirements 1910.30(a) and can be reversed if the truck is lower than dock level. Capacity is rated for a single shift with equipment speeds up to 3 mph, and for multi-shift operations, 3-wheeled forklifts, or trucks using paper roll clamps, an additional 5,000 lbs. should be added to the board capacity. The width of the dock board should be 12 inches greater than the lift truck or load, with the usable width being 4 inches less than the overall width, while the most popular width is 60 inches. Stackers, 3-wheeled forklifts, and other narrow aisle loaders should not be used on this dock board, and refrigerated trucks require special dock boards.
