The kit includes a variety of features designed for secure, reliable, and quiet use, including a right-hand butt hinge that is recessed into the doorframe to prevent tampering with the hinge pin. All door openings feature mortise and tenon construction with spot welding for enhanced rigidity, while a continuous door strike ensures secure closure, with padded strikes to dampen noise upon closing. Both single and double tier models come equipped with a recessed handle that offers a smooth, catch-free front, also protecting padlocks from tampering. The latching channels incorporate nylon glides to minimize sound during operation. Single tier lockers have a 3-point latching mechanism (top, bottom, and sides), with legs that add an additional 6 inches to the height. It is recommended to anchor the lockers to the floor and/or wall for safety. The lockers have a durable powder coat finish. As of March 1, 2021, champagne color finished Vanguard and Guardian lockers maintain the same color throughout, while gray color finished quick ship Vanguard lockers are consistent in color as well. Other color finishes in Vanguard and Guardian lockers will have common champagne color body parts, and single solid colors are available with longer lead times and an additional charge.
