The Bluff® Steel Dock Board with Forklift Tine Notches is designed for efficient and safe dock operations, featuring integral fork cut-outs that enable forklift drivers to easily maneuver the dock plate without leaving the vehicle. The dock board incorporates twin "notched" holes on its leading edge, allowing for quick scooping and positioning, which reduces time spent in high-traffic loading areas while enhancing safety for operators who are at greater risk when outside the forklift cab. Constructed entirely of welded steel, the board includes an anti-skid diamond tread surface for maximum traction. Its tapered curbs prevent tire damage, and beveled ends facilitate smooth entry and exit. A safety stop on the underside fits securely between the truck and dock, preventing any shifting under load. The dock board complies with OSHA Spec. 1910.30(a) and ANSI Spec. MH30.2, has a 15,000 lb. capacity, and incorporates a 7° bend 17" from the truck end and a 9° bend 8" from the dock end. Note that the rated capacity is the combined weight of the maximum pallet load and the lift truck for a single shift at equipment speeds of 3 mph maximum. The width of the dock board should be 12" greater than the lift truck or load, with a usable width that is 6" less than the overall width. Stackers and other narrow aisle loaders are not compatible with dock boards, and special dock plates are required for refrigerated trucks. The height difference above the dock can be up to 5" for propane or gas forklifts and up to 3" for electric forklifts or pallet jacks.
