The 3M Utility Cloth Roll measures 1 inch wide by 20 yards long and features Aluminum Oxide abrasive with P240 grit. The roll allows for strips to be torn to the desired length for specific applications. Most grades come with a light J-weight cloth backing that offers flexibility to conform to circular edges, angles, or other contours, while rolls in grades P50 or P60 have a stiffer X-weight backing suitable for coarser sanding tasks. The cloth backing remains durable when bent or rolled without tearing or shelling, and strips can be torn by hand without compromising the sanding surface. Aluminum Oxide is known for its fast cut-rate and long life, as it self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, making it ideal for use on a wide variety of materials including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, wood, and plastic. Typical applications include blending, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, and rust removal. This product serves industries such as metalworking and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO).
