The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Roll measures 6" x 10 yards and features a medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive for consistent finishing, blending, polishing, and cleaning on various metals, wood, plastics, and hard-to-reach areas. The roll stock can be cut to any length, providing consistent surface conditioning throughout its use, with load resistance keeping abrasive particles exposed to maintain a steady cut rate. This general-purpose pad can be hand-cut for precision or used with a hand pad holder for uniform finishing, or on inline or oscillating sanders for larger areas. Scotch-Brite™ rolls are manufactured with silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or talc abrasives: silicon carbide is sharp and suitable for low-pressure paint prep and finishing; aluminum oxide is hard and blocky, offering a high cut rate and long life; talc is mild, used to achieve satin finishes or with polish for high gloss in topcoat rubbing. The abrasives are embedded in a non-woven fiber matrix, creating an abrasive system that delivers consistent results over the product's life by running cool and resisting load, which limits fiber clogging and maintains high cutting performance. Common applications include blending, cleaning, contour finishing, finishing, and lacquer sanding, with usage spanning metalworking, MRO, and woodworking industries.
