The 3M™ Cloth Band 747D measures 2 inches in diameter by 1 inch wide with 60 grit ceramic abrasive, designed for grinding, sanding, and shaping all metals including stainless steel and nickel alloys, as well as wood and fiberglass. It conforms to inner and outer contours to remove parting lines, seams, imperfections, and burrs. The band features a blend of aluminum oxide and 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain resin-bonded to durable cotton backing, providing a fast continuous cut, long-life performance, and resistance to high heat and pressure. A grinding aid reduces temperatures to protect heat-sensitive alloys. The band fits onto rubber wheel attachments such as cushion polishing wheels or rubber slotted expander wheels (sold separately) for use with die grinders or rotary drills. Available in various widths and lengths, it is suitable for tasks such as foundry work, blending corners, contour finishing, deburring internal diameters, grinding, and polishing. The ceramic abrasive grain is engineered for toughness and hardness, with frequent fracturing for fast cutting and the ability to withstand intense heat and stress, offering superior cut rate and durability compared to aluminum oxide abrasives.
