The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Hookit™ film disc 775L features 3M precision shaped ceramic grain, which is a significant advancement in abrasive technology. The triangular shaped ceramic mineral is engineered to slice through the substrate instead of gouging or "plowing" like conventional abrasives, allowing the disc to cut up to 2x faster and last up to 6x longer than traditional options. These discs are suitable for a wide variety of applications focused primarily on stock removal and can be effectively used on metals, composites, gelcoat, and whitewood. The film backing provides enhanced tear resistance compared to paper discs, ensuring better durability and edge retention. For optimal performance, it is recommended to pair these discs with 3M™ Elite random orbital sanders. The product includes a complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M™ Hookit™ discs designed for environments where adhesive-backed discs might become contaminated with dust or dirt. Hookit™ discs produce finer finishes than adhesive-backed discs and attach conveniently to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately). They can be removed cleanly and reused throughout their abrasive life.
