3M™ Cloth Band 747D 1" diameter x 1" width P120 grit ceramic is an abrasive designed for grinding, sanding, and shaping on metals including stainless steel and nickel alloys, as well as wood and fiberglass. The blend of aluminum oxide and 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain is resin-bonded to a durable cotton backing for fast continuous cutting and long-life performance on aggressive applications. The resin bond withstands high heat and pressure, while a grinding aid reduces grinding temperatures to protect heat-sensitive alloys. This cloth band fits onto rubber wheel attachments such as cushion polishing wheels or rubber slotted expander wheels (sold separately) for use with die grinders or rotary drills. Available in various widths and lengths, it conforms to contours for removing parting lines, seams, burrs, and imperfections, making it commonly used in foundry work and metal fabrication industries. The ceramic abrasive grain is a ceramic mineral developed with a proprietary process enhancing toughness and hardness; the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend ensures a harder, longer-lasting abrasive with superior cut-rate and durability compared to aluminum oxide alone. The abrasive is ideal for moderate stock removal, surface preparation, corner blending, contour finishing, deburring including internal diameters, grinding, and polishing metal.
