3M™ Cloth Band 747D 2" diameter x 1" width with P120 grit ceramic is a versatile abrasive designed for grinding, sanding, and shaping on all metals, including stainless steel and nickel alloys, as well as wood and fiberglass. It conforms to inner and outer contours to remove parting lines, seams, imperfections, and burrs. The abrasive consists of a blend of aluminum oxide and 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain resin-bonded to a durable cotton backing, which provides a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure. A grinding aid reduces grinding temperatures, protecting heat-sensitive alloys. The band fits onto rubber wheel attachments such as cushion polishing wheels or rubber slotted expander wheels (sold separately) for use with die grinders or rotary drills. Available in various widths and lengths to accommodate different contours and tasks, the band is frequently used in foundry work. The ceramic abrasive grain is created through a proprietary process to enhance toughness and hardness, and the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend provides a harder, longer-lasting abrasive ideal for moderate stock removal and surface preparation.
