3M™ Cloth Band 747D 1" Diameter x 1" Wide 60 Grit Ceramic is an abrasive designed for grinding, sanding, and shaping on all metals including stainless steel and nickel alloys, as well as wood and fiberglass, with the ability to conform to inner and outer contours to remove parting lines, seams, imperfections, and burrs. It features a blend of aluminum oxide and 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain resin-bonded to a durable cotton backing, providing fast continuous cutting and long-lasting durability under aggressive applications. The resin bond withstands high heat and pressure, while a grinding aid reduces grinding temperatures to protect heat-sensitive alloys. This cloth band fits onto rubber wheel attachments such as cushion polishing wheels or rubber slotted expander wheels for use with die grinders or rotary drills. Available in various widths and lengths, it suits different contours and tasks, commonly used in foundry work. The ceramic abrasive grain is engineered via a proprietary process for enhanced toughness and hardness, with the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend delivering superior cut-rate and durability compared to aluminum oxide alone, making it ideal for moderate stock removal and surface preparation. Typical applications include blending corners, contour finishing, deburring (including internal diameters), grinding, polishing, and metal fabrication.
