The Iko shell type needle roller bearing metric, closed end, features a 14mm bore, 20mm outer diameter, and 12mm width, identified by part number Tlam1412. This bearing consists of an outer ring made from an accurately drawn thin special steel plate, needle rollers, and optionally a retainer. It boasts the smallest sectional height and weight among needle roller bearings while maintaining relatively high load ratings. When equipped with a retainer, this bearing can be utilized in high-speed applications due to the precise guidance of rollers by the retainer and thrust ring. Notably, these bearings are not supplied with pre-packed lubricant; thus, proper lubrication is essential during use. Typically, they are employed with shafts that do not have inner rings, with a recommended shaft surface finish of 0.2?MRA or less and a hardness of HRC 58 to 64. If these conditions cannot be met, the use of Iko inner rings is suggested. However, direct measurement on the outer ring is inadvisable due to potential deformation from heat treatment, and standard mounting dimensions should be followed for shaft and housing diameters. The tolerance for the outer ring width is +0 to -0.20 mm.
