The Iko Shell Type Needle Roller Bearing, specifically part# TA2020Z, is a heavy-duty metric bearing featuring a 20mm bore, 27mm outer diameter (OD), and 20mm width. This type of bearing consists of an outer ring made from accurately drawn thin special steel plate and needle rollers, with an option for a retainer. Known for having the smallest sectional height and weight among needle roller bearings, it also boasts relatively high load ratings. The needle roller bearing with a retainer is suitable for high-speed applications as the retainer and thrust ring precisely guide the rollers. It is important to note that shell type needle roller bearings are not pre-packed with lubricant; appropriate lubrication must be applied during use. Typically, these bearings are designed to be used with shafts that do not have inner rings. It is recommended to maintain a shaft surface finish of 0.2 µm Ra or less and a shaft hardness of HRC 58 to 64. In instances where these specifications cannot be met, the use of Iko inner rings is advised. Due to the thin cross sections of the outer ring, direct measurement on it may result in deformation from heat treatment; therefore, standard mounting dimensions should be utilized for the shaft and housing diameters. The tolerance for the outer ring width is +0 to -0.20 mm.
