The IKO shell type needle roller bearing, part# BHA108ZOH, features a heavy-duty design with a 5/8 inch bore, a 7/8 inch outer diameter, and a 0.500 inch width. Constructed from accurately drawn thin special steel plate, this bearing consists of an outer ring and needle rollers, with or without a retainer. It is characterized by its small sectional height and weight, along with relatively high load ratings, making it suitable for various applications. The needle roller bearing with retainer is ideal for high-speed applications due to the precise guidance of the rollers by the retainer and thrust ring. It is important to note that these bearings do not come pre-packed with lubricant, necessitating proper lubrication during use, and they are generally intended for use with shafts that do not have inner rings. For optimal performance, a shaft surface finish of 0.2 µMRA or less and a shaft hardness of HRC 58 to 64 are recommended. In cases where these specifications cannot be met, the use of IKO inner rings is advised. Due to the thin cross-section of the outer ring, deformation from heat treatment is unavoidable, and direct measurements on the outer ring are not appropriate; standard mounting dimensions should be used for shaft and housing diameters, with an outer ring width tolerance of +0 to -0.20 mm.
